Thomas's Story
Graduate from AUHS June 1965 (only went to AUHS my senior year). Former friends were David Bishop, David (Swede Workentine) David Craig; Dorothy Lare.
Went to Salem Tech. for a few months in Log Scaler Technology program.
U.S. Army 1966-1969.
Returned to Albany, OR, Jun 70. 1970 1982 worked at D.E. Nebergall Meat Co; Zirtech; and Teledyne Wah Chang, to include U.S. Army Reserve. Returned to active Duty U.S. Army Dec 1982, retired from U.S. Army June 1999 as Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command, Airborne, Ft Bragg, NC. While in OR (70-82) met my late wife Sylvia G. (Gayle) Logan, Oct 73, Married Nov 74. Also did salvage logging for firewood, cedar shakes and posts; we also had a sheep and horse farm/ranch in Lacomb.

he Army in Jun 99, worked as a Construction Superintendant in NC; security construction for US Embassies in Belize, Beirut, and Algiers, Jul 00 to June 01. After 9/11 worked as an instructor, security consultant for various companies and TSA; Nov 02 to Nov 04, worked for Blackwater USA Security and US Govt in Afghanistan. Quit working in 05 to take care of and be with my wife (multiple serious illnesses); she passed away 1 May 08 from Lung Cancer. Currently representing companies manufacturing blast and ballistic materials, to include preparing to set up a Timber Trust in VA and NC; and return to Afghanistan in Spring 09, as a Security Manager. Plan on relocating to western U.S. in next two years.
