Thomas Malone:

CLASS OF 1989

Thomas's Story

The real journey begins: Once I graduated, I served in the US Army for 10 years as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist and a X-Ray Technologist. I have been stationed in places like: Colorado Springs,CO/San Antonio,TX/ Missouri, Korea, Alabama, and South Carolina. I found my beautiful wife in Colorado Springs,Co (she was Army, also.)My wife and I were friends for a year and got married in 1991. May 1st, we celebrated 17 wonderful years together. The word of God says, "He who finds a wife, finds a good thing." She has been the most precious gift ever given to me. We have 3 teenagers: a 17 year old son and two daughters 15 & 14. All three are very bright and gifted, like their mom. Its hard sometimes to believe they are so big. It seems just like yesterday, my son was stuck behind the water bed and now he is trying to drive. That's scary. I got out of the Army in 1998 and worked as a X-Ray technologist in Georgia for about 7 years. My wife and I found a church to serve in and became Children's Pastors, Marriage Enrichment ministers, Jr. High youth ministers, Elders and teachers on Wednesday nights. We also, were on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, for 3 years. FamilyLife Ministries to be more specific. Facilitating God's word pertaining to Family, Marriage and Parenting. Family ministry has always been at the center of our heart. Our goal is to help raise Godly generations: one family, one marriage, one home at a time. We have now been ministering in Family ministry for over 12 y...Expand for more
ears and we love it. We also are on the Pulse ministry which is the choir, dance team and creative arts within our church. I am a blessed man, that together we are able to engage in true discipleship. Investing in the lives of others. One of the great honors I had in Southwest Georgia was to be a football coach for a high School. It was awesome teaching these kids the game of football and watching them go out and be successful. They worked and prayed their way through alot of adversity, and came out on the other end as conquerors. Sherwood Christian Academy will always have a special place in our heart. War!!! Win!!! I went back to school in 2006 and graduated from Nuclear Medicine School in 2007 and now I work at one of the major hospitals in the upstate of SC. I am presently taking a Computer Tomography course and will graduate from it in May 2009. This gives me great flexibility in Imaging Services. There isn't much I can't do or willing to learn. I also do PET/CT in our Oncology Facility. There are less than 500 technologists nationwide with any of these modalities combined. This makes me highly marketable in a very competitive field. My goal is very simple, yet complex: to be an example to my children, friends, family and anyone in my sphere of influence that "All things are possible, in Christ." We have been created with gifts, for a purpose. What is yours? P.S. I Love Sports: All things Tennessee. Memphis Tigers (the real U), VOLS, and Titans. TN 4 ever, babee!!!
