Life I had a rough time exiting High school because all I ever heard from anyone was what I couldn't do. Even the counselor, after asking me what I wanted to do upon graduation, I responded with three different options and her response was "Oh, you can't do any of those things because you haven't prepared yourself". I just wanted to crawl in a hole. I was the sort that generally believed what people told me, so if someone said I couldn't do that, I would just think ok, I guess I can't do that then. I managed to graduate from City College of San Francisco with an A.A. in Hotel and Resturaunt Operations. I worked for a while as a manager of Jack-In-The-Box, and a couple of other places and got tired of the long hours and little pay, so I started looking around for something better. I married and divorced after seven years. I had a daughter. I went from job to job for a while and got tired of all the politics in California (and the high cost of living). I moved to Washington thinking that there just had to be something better somewhere. After about 3 or 4 years there, I landed a job at Boeing. I got into a training program there and worked on the 767's installing the interiors in the airplanes. Any of you who knew me must have known my interest in airplanes. I was always flying control line and R/C model aircraft, so this was a really good job for me. I worked there 15 beautiful years and made a good living there. Then 911 happened. After 911, all of Boeing's customers started calling and cancelling their orders. I was evertually laid off and told I probably wouldn't be back.
