Thomas's Story

In a nutshell......I left SR at 17 years old with a backpack and $40 to my name. That was two weeks after graduation. Hitchhiked to Oklahoma, then back to SR briefly and then up to Oregon. The following March I enlisted in the Air Force and spent my entire adult life in the military. I "retired" in 2003 and moved to a home I bought in Yuba City, CA. raqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). My job has been to ensure the contractors provide our troopps everything us taxpayers are paying for. It's a lot more detailed than that, but you get the point, right? Not your typical family man, but I've managed to stay married for 34 years and raised three great children. They have given us 14 wonderful Grandchildren!!! (No doubt, my greatest and most enjoyable accomplishment) Update: My deployment days are over now. Things are winding down over there. I guess I stayed just a little bit too long because I ended up hurting my back over there just before the end of my last deployment. That sucks! Now, I work in Rancho Cordova, CA. (That's all I'm going to say about that)
