Thomas's Story

I'm not sure where to start here, however, after graduation worked for Sunshine Bisquit for a year, then I was drafted and during my time in the Army, I spent a year in Viet Nam in the 9th Inf Div. After the Army episode I went to Delta College and flunked out and it told me to come back when I was serious about college. I worked for a couple of year as an inside sales person at U.S. Plywood and then I landed a job that drove me backed to college. It was October of 1972 and I was hired by Saginaw Steering Gear to work on one of it's assembly lines. All night for 8 hours it was "a pressure plate and two O-rings" I just knew I couldn't do this for the next 30 years. Being a Viet Nam vet, I had to just put in 90 days and then I was allowed to take an educational leave. That I did and in 1976 I graduated from SVSU witha degree in Accounting and minor in Economics. I worked in Steering Gears Accounting Department for ...Expand for more
5-6 years then found out I liked being in supervision in manufacturing. Never a dull moment in this environment. In 1989 I received my M.B.A. from SVSU and stayed at Steering Gear and moved into the quality arena to finish up my career. During my time working at SSG, I also taught as an Adjunct Professor off and on since 1977. I taught accounting at Delta College and Management classes at SVSU. My personnel life, I married Cindy in October 1970, we had our first child, daughter, in 1974 and two more daughters in 1978, and 1980. I am now retired from Delphi Saginaw (aka. SSG)and currently teaching a class at SVSU. I also sub teach in the Standish Sterling, and AuGres school system. My wife and I moved 8 miles north of AuGres, where we razed our old summer home and put up a new one to retire in. However, my wife, Cindy, is still working as an RN at Covenant Cooper. That is about as detailed as I can be right now.

Santa just left the house, taking care of 8 grandchildren and 3 adult children. He ate the cookies and drank a Stella.
Sunday sunrise with ice piling up on shore.
This was written by a student for the public school newspaper in 1962. How sad is it,in today’s world, this poem would never be allowed to be published for any public school newspaper. Political correctness won’t allow it.
This is the picture of the Governor of New York signing its new abortion bill into law. The bottom drawing is quite fitting.
Papa showing off little Emma at the VFW in Saginaw.
My three little cutie pies are all grown up with cutie pies of their own. How time flies!
This cute little granddaughter competing in the junior Olympic’s in Colorado. She has not fallen once and has completed all her runs. I’m really proud of of you sweetie.
My handsome little grandson holding his cute little, 7 month old cousin. He’ so proud! Then he went and pitched two games.
My eighth grandchild. She is growing so fast. Slow down my little Emma.
My Junior Olympic skier. She is amazing! She completed all her races without falling. I don’t know where she finished, however this picture tells it all.
