Thomas's Story
Life
After High School I worked with a home builder; laboring for brick layers and block layers, then helping the carpenters. But without a college education, I was getting nowhere. So, 2 years after graduation, I when to college at Williamsport, PA. When I started college, I couldn't spell electrician, now I R 1. I married Colleen Mordan from VoTech. We have 2 boys, Nathan born in 1982 and Josh born in 1990. Both played in the band and became Eagle Scouts. Now that Nathan is done with college, Josh will start in the fall of 2008. I help with Boy Scouts and band as much as possible. My wife is busy at home and during everything that needs to be done. Hope to see you all at the next reunion.
School
When I was in school, I just wanted it to be over. All my teachers tried to get me to learn as much as possible. But I didn't realize how important it was to learn as much as possible before going out into the world, getting a job, and supporting a family. It took me 2 years t...Expand for more
o realize I needed more education. I was able to go to college, and I had to learn there some of what I could have learned in High School. I learned the hard way how important education is. Since then, I've been willing to learn just about anything anyone is willing to teach me. And now, I enjoy teaching other people what I have learned. I never want to stop learning new things.
College
I'll never forget my college days at WACC. I wanted to learn all I could about electricity. The Instuctors were great and so were my fellow classmates. I looked forward to being there every day with my friends. My inspiration to go there was seeing several of my high school classmates go there before I did. Gas was cheap and I liked to drive my 71 Camero back and forth each day; so I commuted instead of staying there. But my college classmates would invite me to there college homes, so I got to see a little of what is was like to stay there. College days were some of the best times of my life.
