Thomas's Story
Life
Been a few places , also been home again off and on. After Redwood and a year at College Of Marin, moved to Spokane Washington. Beautiful country , four very distinct seasons, lakes and mountains , and a lot of high plains. Got married , divorced , learned a lot about the restaurant and bar business. Came home in '74 for six months then went back and got to work the graveyard shift at the 1974 Worlds Fair in Spokane. It was also there at about 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon in 1980 that the sky grew almost as dark as the night in the middle of the afternoon and for 3 days and nights it rained gray ash on the city. Mount St. Helens had blown its top and we were in the path of the ashes. Moved back to Southern Ca. that year to Apple Valley. High desert area between San Bernadino and Barstow. rode my motorcycle out in the desert...Expand for more
a lot. But being born near the ocean , salt water was still in my veins and I moved back to Marin before Thanksgiving.Worked until i found my present wife and was married in 1985 and moved in to San Francisco. Late 1995 found us on the move again, this time to Franklin Tennessee, to be near where my wife's family had ended up. Still here as of 2016. Have been back to Marin and S.F. a few times, the ocean keeps calling. Working as an inside salesman for an electrical supply firm and doing okay. Many things i miss , but other things here you could never find in the "Bay Area". Sure we'll be back again hopefully soon. Love to hear from anyone who grew up in the most incredible era that we did. Don't know if any generation can say they saw or experienced quite so much as ours has. Still and as always , Peace and Love............TOM B.
