THOMAS's Story
Life
My wife Cathy, (second marriage) & I now live in Superior, Montana, but for 45 years I lived in Anza in the San Jacinto Mts near Idyllwild, Ca. We no longer raise cattle, and sold our lease when it became apparent we might actually make a profit and run the risk of being confused with sheep people. Retired in 2012, I'm still working on winning the lotto, and busier now than when I was working.
I retired from Anza Electric Cooperative as a board member and past Board President.
In the past we spent most of our spare time in the Sierras fishing, packing in with our horses and mules, (all 6 of 'em) and camping out for as long as I figure I can get away with it . We also are volunteer packers for the USFS, BLM, Pacific Crest Trail Assoc. & active members of the Back Country Horsemen of Calif. Redshank Unit. As California State Education Chairman for BCHC, I also am a Leave No Trace Master Stock Educator for the Back Country Horsemen of Calif. and The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, in Boulder, Co. and spend a fair amount of time teaching LNT principles and techniques to outdoor people of all types in the backcountry.

id at least some attention in English class. I have been writing now for some time and have an outdoor humor column in the local paper as well as Western Mule Magazine, and I currently am working on my fourth book, (outdoor humor stories).
Equally surprising, and is a long-winded story how that came to be, and ultimately ended up stumbling into a acting career, having a recurring role in (of all things), a western titled, Tucker's War. I also have a role as the title character, in a feature-length film titled, Ulysses Coyote, that began production, but was suddenly halted due to Covid. It's been a fun experience so far, and I've met a lot of really, nice people. Never, in all of my years, did I ever think I'd be doing this.
I have 13 grand kids and four great-grandchildren, and am blessed to be able to still be healthy and stay active. My pet peeve is Mark Zuckerburg, enviro-meddlers, Sierra-clubbers, PETA pinheads, and trail runners. Deer & elk hunting is my passion, flyfishing is my weakness, and mules are my perplexing addiction.
While I never seem to have enough time to fish, I am, however, blessed to have had one good woman, one good dog, and one good horse in my life, who could ask for more?
