Thomas's Story
I'm not sure many people remember me from High School. I was shy and kept a low profile. I did not do very well in school and I never really thought I would amount to much. I could not see much future for myself when I graduated.
I did date Cathy Crosier for few times around graduation time. Wonder from time to time how her life turned out.
I entered the Air Force in Sepember 1976 and I never looked back. Funny thing, I had met Evan Doble, on the airplane the day I flew off to basic training. Mr Dobel he was the Pittsfield Mayor at the time, his signature in on our High School diplomas. He was on the plane as an advance man for Jimmy Cater at the time. He knew my Father, an had sent him a note about meeting me. Mr. Dobel went on to work in the Whitehouse, as the Chief of Protocol in the Carter admistration.
After basic training, I was station for 2 years in Germany and finish out my enlistment in Michigan. In 1980, I left the service and I lived with my sister in Amesbury MA for about a year. My parents had divorce an moved to diffrent towns.
It around that time in my life I had met a friend of my cousin who inspired me. Danny Quirk was a millionair by age 30. He sugested to me; that I can either put myself in the positon to suceed or fail. I choose to suceeed.

k and study much harder and longer than the roomates I knew. I graduated with at Bachelor of Science in Nursing, in 1985. I've lived in the Greater Lowell area since then.
I met my wife Dorothy on Thanksgiving day 1985, by a chance meeting. See my father had looked up a childhood friend of his in Lowell. They were next-door neighbors in the 1930's. He had not seen her in 50 or so years. Well, he was invited to come to Thansgiving day dinner. That year was my turn to spend the holiday with my father. So guess who was going to a stranger's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. Dorothy is the daughter of my father's childhood friend. Dorothy, and I married in 1987. I have one son, John. He's 19 now an is entering his sophmore year in college. We have a home in Dracut MA.
In 1986, I took a Nursing positon at the Veteran Adminstration Hospital in Bedford MA. In 1990, I met with Evan Dobel again. His office was in the build next to mine. He was leaving the job as the President of Middlesex Community Colledge. I introduced my self and he remembered my chance meeting with him, in 1976. Sadly my father had passed away in 1987.
I am a Registered Nurse and have worked for the Veteran's Admistration since 1986. In 1990 took an possion as an addictions nurse. I have been doing that for the past 19 years. I feel that I have suceed well beyond my expectations, imagine that.
