Thomas's Story
We continue to tell people we're not preparing to retire, we're preparing to live, and appreciate unplanned time as it unfolds. We also think we're reasonably good at sharing it with others, albeit occasionally in sepia-toned generalizations. We've taken to referring to multi-tasking, for example, as "watching wind blow while listening to birds sing." You can still do that here. Still, we have a penchant for spending our vacations visiting the small towns in Southwest Oregon. e location is between the windward side of the Coastal range and the sea, at a little place that seems to maintain a relentless rusticity going back to the days when the entire area was oriented around fishing camps. Salmon fishing remains the passion, and provides great opportunity for cooking spouses to do fine work with fresh local seafood, often caught that day. Always a great place, cheese factories, tasty chanterelles, forever non-plussed by low population density and ever-changing weather. So that's us, and that's it. We're still here, still centered, still the People From Oklahoma.
