Thomas's Story
After graduation, I was tired of school, so I looked for work, got tired of that after two months, and joined the Navy for four years.
I loved it, and would have made it a career, if it weren't for the people.
I did get a career out of it, though:
Electronics Technician.
After the Navy, I had several jobs until I snagged one at Hewlett-Packard.
I think they assumed I was a militant Mexican. I lasted at HP for 28 years.
Meanwhile, I got married twice. The first time was for 25 years. I consider that a success. The second is still going strong after 13 years.
I have a son Robert and a daughter Deborah who have 4 and 2 kids respectfully and are quite successful in their own lives.

mpanies sent those jobs to India. So I stayed a technician. No complaints. It was enjoyable and a lot easier. But very little money. I found that being independently poor is easier.
I am out of work for the fourth time since HP laid me off, but it is okay.
I considered it a mini-retirement. I get full social security, now. . Wow, does time fly!
Now, my time is spent gardening, reading the newspaper, TV, writing poetry, walking the dog, and riding my motorcycle--not necessarily in that order--oh, and what-ever my wife wants me to do when she catches me.
And just an additional note if you have read this far: I don't know about others, but my memories of people and events during Sunnyvale High are pretty dim. It might be age or Alzheimer's or maybe I never had a good memory anyway.
Write me what you do remember and maybe it will stir something up.
