Tiffany's Story
Most people might remember me as the "new girl" that missed a lot of school or Steve Sloat's little sister. I was shy and didn't have many friends. My family moved a lot and I didn't stay in any one school for long. I was usually the tallest girl in the class.
I moved to Michigan in 7th grade and have been here ever since. I started my family young, had my son Kyle when I was 15 and got married when I was 16. I've been married for 13 years now.
I never went to high school, I dropped out in 8th grade. But I did get my GED when I turned 18 and got my first good paying job in an auto factory.
I worked there for 5 years before the company decided to close up shop and sent my job overseas. I had the opportunity to go to college then but I decided to go back to work instead. I worked in a few low paying factories until I got a job with Collins & Aikman in 2005. I worked there for about 2 1/2 years before they went bankrupt and closed their doors in 2007. I've been going to SC4 for 2 years now. I'm working towards an associates degree in computer programming. I have one more semester to go. Hopefully I will be graduating in May 2010. I haven't had any problems getting good grades, I've maintained a 3.6 GPA. That's a major improvement from K-12 when I was lucky to have a C average. I wasn't that I was dumb then I just hated school and homework (I still hate homework.)
I will be going back to work in the next 6 months. Where? I don't know. Hopefully not in another factory (I'm cursed with factories going out of business.) I'd like a nice desk job sitting behind a computer. The older I get the less my body likes manual labor.
After I get back to work I plan on getting a few more degrees in Computer Science (Web Developement, Computer Applications, Networking.)
Someday I want to leave Michigan possibly move to the South West.
