Life
Hello, I don't see lots of these on the site, but being one of the most foolishly open people on earth, I thought I would see who, if anyone would like to see what I have been up to. I ran my parents printing company from around 1980 to 1992. I then sold it but stayed on as a manager until 2002. At this point I decided to go back to school. I attended classes and became a state licensed counselor, which I loved doing but the money wasn't the best. When the hurricanes hit Florida in 2004 it was enough motivation for me to finally do what I thought I never would never do and leave a place so much a part of myself and my family that it was a little like leaving Earth. I sold my home and moved to New England. A place I had come to love after a decade of vacations to the area. I lived for a few months in New Hampshire and then bought a house in Massachusetts. Shortly after this the company I work for made me a generous offer to relocate to the Washington DC area. I accepted and now am a project manager with a general contractor that specializes in critical facilities construction, primarily for defense contractors in the DC area. It is very interesting work and allows me access to some neat places. The owner of the company is also taking advantage of my marketing background (Aiken Printing) and I am currently re-doing all the company advertising pieces including the web-site.
As for Florida, I visit often, as I have much family and many dear friends there. I am hoping that our class has a...Expand for more
30 year reunion, and think it would be a shame to miss celebrating such a milestone for all of us from the class of 79. I may even try to attend some of my brother's reunion events next year (78).
As for personal info, I am married to Toni (Vega) a girl I met in Sanford, and started dating in 1987. We were married in 1989, and have two boys. Charles is 21 and Nicholas is 13. They are wonderful kids and we are a very close family. My wife worked for many years at Florida Hospital in Hospital Administration and now works as senior project director at a continuing medical education provider in the DC area. My sons play music and I am now giving guitar lessons in the evenings. I love to travel and have been fortunate to have been able to take many trips both in the U.S. and abroad. I still love all the music we grew up with, but I am very interested in politics and current events and spend as much time on news radio stations as music. I guess we all grow up sometime.
As for my general outlook, I feel like one of the luckiest people on earth. GodÂs grace has followed me always and people everywhere have always treated me with much love and kindness. I have received more blessings than I can possibly remember or count and look forward to each day with optimism. It really has been pretty good so far, and I am hoping to live till at least 100 so itÂs not even half over yet!!!
So as 2007 rolls to a close I hope the New Year finds you all in good health and happiness.
