Tim's Story
After Venice High....
I moved away to college, got a job at Hardee's, did well in school, broke up with my high school sweet heart, came home for the summer and worked construction. After carrying cement block for the summer I went back to college, cooked at Snuffy's, discovered all kinds of mind altering substances, didn't do so well in school, came home for the summer and worked on I-75. After working on a highway digging ditches in the middle of summer, realizing I never wanted to o THAT again, I went back to school, did well, worked at several restaurants, got a degree in Cardiopulmonary Technology and moved to Jacksonville. Married my college sweet heart, moved back to Gainesville, three years in G-ville, got divorced and moved to Saint Louis to go back to school. I met a girl, discovered New Orleans, discovered jazz fest, discovered in a key west bar that if your credit card is maxed out, you can still run it through $10 at a time for a LONG time , graduated with a degree in Perfusion. ight and day, became a partner, worked night and day, became an owner and bought a house. Discovered if I didn't do something I was going to go CRAZY living in Peoria Illinois. I broke up with the Saint Louis girl, sold the house and used the money to by a big boat. Lived on the boat during the summer, rented during the winter, loved life. Discovered that from the Illinois River I can get to the Gulf of Mexico, which kept me closer to Florida than I had been in a long time, and I planned on leaving Peoria by boat some day. Really. And then...I met the right girl, got married, bought a house, had a son, sold the boat, bought a BIGGER boat, planned on living the good life in the caribbean homeschooling and diving. Had a second son, spent the next 16 days holding his hand in the NICU, brought him home in time for Thanksgiving, on which we thanked God he was still here. I sold out of our company and now work for one of the small hospitals in town doing perfusion, work during the day, have a lot more time for life and family. Soccer, baseball and all that goes with little boys. I still have the boat, still have the dream, but if I don't get there, it's OK. I'm pretty happy where I'm at.
Thanks Jimmy.
