Tim's Story
Life
Studied Economics and Environmental Studies at Cal State Fullerton. Wrote environmental impact reports on development projects for ten years. Married Deborah Turner in 1990. We have 2 kids: Gabriel, born in Bolivia in 1998, and Micaela, born in Peru in 2001. Joined the State Dept. as a career diplomat in 1994. Worked in the Philippines, Argentina, Peru, and at the U.S. Mission to the UN. Returned to the U.S. in Aug. 02 to work on sustainable development issues in the Dept.'s...Expand for more
environmental bureau. Moved to Panama in August 2005 to head the Embassy's Economics Section. In 2008 we moved to Costa Rica where I served as the State Department’s Regional Environmental Officer for Central America & the Caribbean. Three years later we returned to the U.S. where I served for several years as Deputy Director of the State Department’s climate change office. I continue to live near Baltimore, MD but I’m still an Angels fan for life and still a proud Katella Knight!
