Tim's Story

I was grateful to leave home after graduation. I did a short stint as Assistant Pastor at First Presbyterian Church over the summer before I went off to spend 4 years at the University of No Credit (UNC) where I played/performed/taught alot of guitar, got involved in Martial Arts, and eventually decided that teaching in a public school was a Bad Idea. During that time, I started/taught a very successful Guitar Program at Aims Junior College, which lasted for 5 more years. After my four years at UNC were up, I got married and became a Luthier. .A few years later, I started a Guitar Boutique, where I sold, repaired, and built custom-made guitars, banjos and dulcimers for discerning customers. Played even more guitar professionally. Also became serious about Martial Arts . I was divorced in 1979,and shut down the Boutique shortly after. I spent the next decade or so as a full-time Martial Artist. I opened the first real Chinese and Filipino School outside of California at that time in Greeley, Colo. During that time, I also became an Acupuncturist, a Chinese Herbalist, a Naturopath/Homeopath, a Hypnotherapist, and an EMT. Among other things. I spent some time working on a ranch in Wy occasionally. And I played with Lotus cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles to keep me sane. Some of my patients affectionately called me the "Cowboy Kung Fu Biker Acupuncturist" during that time. Given what I've heard some of my patients call their allopathic Dr's, I don't think it was so bad... I moved to Cheyenne, Wy in the early 90's to found a sister Martial School and to practice acupuncture. Both enterprises were a first for the State in some ways, and both are still thriving today. I am privileged to teach several martial arts from the Chinese, Filipino, Hindu, and Indonesian Cultures, and I am the Lineage Inheritor (master) for two of them. Currently, I own a "formal" house close to town which I expect to sell in the near future. I recently sold my small ranch, which allowed me to move farther out in the boonies to a more remote section of Paradise. ...Expand for more
And, I have a wonderful Life Partner - Jillianne - who has been a martial student of mine for over 28 years, as well as a secretary, friend, confidante, advisor, and lover for many of them.(She also runs her own very successful Financial Planning Business when I'm not looking...) I still play with Lotus', Ferraris, and the occasional Corvette to keep me sane. Plus, I still play ALOT of guitar(s) - especially when I get bored. At this point in time - I consider myself to have been Blessed with the opportunity to sit at the feet of men with exceptional Character and Skill in order to walk the martial Path; I consider myself to have been Blessed with the opportunity to Serve Others in many ways; and last of all, I consider myself to have been Blessed with someone with which to share it all. It doesn't get much better than that! As to the Future - "Who Knows" ? If the "past is Prologue ..." All the Best to You and Yours! "Doc" Sheehan Addition, as of May ,2021... I got my " formal house " sold about a year ago. I bought some secluded acreage 'way north and west of town with a large brick home and lots of glass to watch the wildlife. Plus a six-car garage that gives me lots of room to play with my toys. I'm restoring a Lotus Europa with a race engine this year. I just bought a Mclaren GT , which proves I am a totally irresponsible adult with no redeeming social qualities whatsoever. Nothing new there... However... so much is going on I might not be able to get to all of my planned projects Now that the Co-Vid scare is almost over, I'm looking forward to taking some trips out of state. with Jillianne, sans masks!. Frank.ly, I am appalled that our generation was a supposed to be the generation of Rebels and Non-conformists. Instead, I see a bunch of scared Sheep... What happened????? While this isn't the time or place to discuss it ( maybe that time is already long past ...) I think it's safe to say that me and those like me are "the last of the V-8*'s, Baby!" For those of you who understand, I salute you! All the best! "Doc" Sheehan
