Timothy J. Olphie has been actively involved in the music industry for the past twenty five (25) years, entering as an Account Representative with the New York City Branch office of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (A.S.C.A.P.) in 1979.
In 1982 Mr. Olphie was offered, and accepted a Management position with Record World, a regionally based record franchise. He was promoted to the role of V.P. of Public Relations Director shortly thereafter and remained with the company until 1989 at which time he accepted a position with CBS Records as an Account Service Representative, now known as Sony Music Entertainment, Inc.
In 1991, Mr. Olphie accepted a position as General Manager of S.O.U.L./MCA Records, a joint venture between Sound Of Urban Listeners (S.O.U.L.) and MCA Records, Inc. in New York City.
His responsibilities included the day-to-day activities of an independent record company distributed by major label and the marketing and management of several S.O.U.L./MCA/Universal Records recording acts.
At SOUL/MCA, Mr. Olphie received several Gold and Platinum awards for his role in the success of several recording acts including; "Public Enemy", "The Young Black Teenagers", "Bobby Brown", "Madonna", "Vanessa Williams", "Bell, Biv, Devoe", "...Expand for more
Ice Cube", and the late, "Tupac Shukur" in which he received several RIAA Gold and Platinum Records, i.e., for the movie "Juice" its related soundtrack and several other awards with the controversial rap group, "Public Enemy" featuring, "Flava Flav".
To date Mr. Olphie has concluded approximately Twenty Five (25) artist recording contracts for both major and independent record labels as producer and/or executive producer including "Danny Gatton" on Elektra Entertainment, a division of Warner Music, Inc. (nominated for "Best Rock Instrumental  1992 Grammy Awards"); "Spectrum City" (currently known as "Public Enemy") and the related Movie Soundtrack with director, Mr. Oliver Stone on Hollywood Records, a division of the Walt Disney Company; "Jammy" on Vibe Records, Inc. (distributed nationally by EMI Music Group, Inc.); and "Ricca" on Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, Inc.
In 1993 Mr. Olphie joined the Independent National Distribution Inc. (I.N.D.I) and became their New York City Sales Representative. From January 1993 to the present, Mr. Olphie has been self-employed by Vibe Records, Inc. as an independent record producer as well as, currently as its President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
Current artist roster includes, "Mike Murphy", "The Baker Girls", "J & Travis", "Kristen Capolino" and Star Search Winner, "Chantele Doucette".
Mr. Olphie received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Management from the State University of New York at Brockport.
Vibe Records, Inc., Nevada is now a Publicly Traded Company on the OTC:BB (VBRE).
