Tina's Story
My friends would describe me as a supportive individual that does their best to help others become successful in their lives. Throughout the years I've been class mom, team mom, team treasurer, boy scout leader and brownie leader and the keeper of the lost.
I've been on nutritional committees and have attended congressional meetings in hopes of swaying legislation to pass regulations that allows all children the opportunity to partake in free meals. Our country has thousands of children whose parents do not send meal money with their children. anything to eat. This is allowed and is not considered abuse since the child can eat both before and after school. Without more people becoming advocates for children this type of neglect will be allowed to continue.
When my son was in tenth grade his friend lost his mother to cancer. Having no where to go we opened our doors and took Nate in and raised him like our own. We helped him to become a young man that we are proud of.
Two years later Eli lost his dad in a tragic accident. We opened our doors and gave him a place to live designating our home as the a place for the lost.
When my friends are asked to describe me they will answer advocate of children, keeper of the lost and supportive to the community she lives in.
