Tina's Story
If you knew me in high school, it probably won't come as a big surprise that I've been working in Christian ministry for the past 20 years--as a teacher, a music director, campus minister, and director of liturgy and spirituality. It is what I love to do, what I'm called to do.
For 16 years now, my husband and I have enjoyed our life and our home near the Jersey shore. Family is important to us, which is WHY we're still living in NJ--our roots are here (not that we have any great love for the state. Retirement will be elsewhere, to be sure.) However, we both love to travel, and as funds allow, we hope to complete our "wish list" of places to visit before we die....
My favorite place in the whole world (so far) is Italy--i could sooooooooooo easily live there.
I LOVE animals--especially dogs. I like dogs more than I like most people. My dog, Santino (we call him Sonny, among other things) is a 1 1/2 year old Goldendoodle.
I always wanted to be an archaeologist when I was young.......but once i realized that I would have to camp out on the dig sites, along with the creepies and crawlies, i decided to stick to reading about what the archaeologists found. My husband and i both love history, a...Expand for more
nd enjoy museums of all kinds.
I don't mind saying it--I enjoy TV!!!! Often, Michael and I are just exhausted at the end of a work day, and we relax with an episode of LOST, a good history documentary, or when it is on, American Idol. (I'm so glad David Cook won!!!!)
I did not really enjoy high school. I wasn't exactly popular, and i had very little self confidence. And I was such a nerd and soooo painfully shy, I'm surprised anyone noticed me at all. But what I enjoyed most about high school was Mrs. Corbo's Spanish classes, and time spent with Donna T. and "Kimbers" and Mr. Tenzer's "Varsity Singers." I wonder what happened to him....and "Charlie the Tuna"
Life has been good, although not without its challenges and hurdles. But faith, hope, and love gets us through, doesn't it??
Only God knows what the future holds, but in 10 years, I'd like to retire early and do some silly part time job which would provide me with enough "fun money" to do all those things you put off doing because you don't have the time now--like taking craft classes, or volunteer at the Humane Society, or travel, etc.
Peace to all who visit here. If you care to send me a message, I'd love to hear from you.
