Tina's Story

Robert LaHuillier and I married in 1985, had 4 beautiful children, raised them, and then right before our 24th anniversary in Dec. of 2009 he had his mid-life crisis and decided he wanted a new, different life. We have remained friends. My younger daughter, Harmoni, married in May 2010 and my older son, Knyte, married in Aug. 2010. Then in Sept. 2010 my youngest, Noble, went to live in Denver, CO for two years to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. 2010 was a great year! I moved back to Lake Isabella and love being here. One of the things I love about being back in the valley is singing with the Kern Valley Sweet Adelines! What a great group of women and what fun we have. My oldest daughter, Stormi, made me a grandma on April 7, 2011. Knyte gave me my 2nd grandson on Jan. 28, 2012. grandchildren live in Las Vegas. I went back to school in 2012, with the goal of getting my math degree. I'm studying Calculus right now. I have worked for Dr. Paul Hyer at Mesa Chiropractic since March 2011 as the receptionist and main diet coach. I quit that job in May 2015 because I spent the summer traveling. Currently I serve as the Seminary teacher for the Kern Valley Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That means I get up every school day and teach the high school kids about the scriptures before their regular schooling begins. The book we use changes each year, repeating the cycle every 4 years. This year we are studying the Old Testament. It is a demanding, but fullfilling, responsibility. One of my favorite things to do is travel. I've been very blessed to be able to do so, both outside the country and all over this one. I have not gone to Florida or that area yet, but have seen most of the country.
