Anthony & Tina's Story
What have I been doing since HS?
Education:
Graduated from WSU and becamse an over the top obsessive Cougar fan.
Professional:
Out of college, I got an internship with the State Senate which led me down a career in politics.
I stayed on Senate staff in entry level stuff for a few years.
Ran for office in 1994 (thank you to all of you who helped me with that).
Then I got hired in the Government Affairs Department at the Washington Restaurant Association (WRA). The WRA is a non-profit association that helps restaurants with training, information, group buying programs but is most known for lobbying on behalf of the restaurant industry.
I lobbied for the WRA for seven years, before I was hired by Boeing to lobby for them. Probably my career highlight was working on a political package to encourage Boeing to build the 787 in E...Expand for more
verett.
Four years later WRA asked me to come back because the CEO was retiring, so I got out of lobbying and do that today.
Family:
Met my wife (Tina) when we were both working grunt jobs in the Senate.
She went on to work for the Department of Corrections before she stopped working for a paycheck when our first son was born in 2002 (Brett).
We had our second son (Byron) in 2006.
We moved to NE Tacoma / Brownspoint area in 2002.
My sister Nicole lives in Lake Tapps with her husband and two boys.
Mom and Dad sold Anton's restaurant to Mama Stortini's, and still live in the same house I grew up in.
Life in General:
Work and our boys sums it up pretty well.
Feels like I get up, go to work, come home eat and put the kids to bed, clean up and go to bed myself. Not a lot of room for much else.
But I really like it.
