Tina's Story
Life
Wow! It's so hard to believe it has been 10 years since our last reunion and boy has my life changed! When we last saw each other, I had married my college sweetheart Ken Czech in 1992 (AA Stagg class of 1986), was in the process of building our first home in Itasca, IL and was a full blown career woman working on Michigan Ave. By Christmas, 1998, I had worked my way up to Account Director overseeing Visa's direct marketing business from Frankel & Co.'s Chicago office. I was traveling extensively for work with the miles/travel perks affording Ken and I a second honeymoon in Hawaii. Friends and family never thought we would settle down and have our own children. Then, in the spring of 1999, everything changed!
In March of that year, our daughter Alyssa was born and brought a new focus into our lives. A two career family with us both jet setting across the country was not how we wanted to raise a family. So, we made some BIG changes. I left the marketing world to be a stay at home mom. Yes, everyone in our lives was shocked! big move out East. (Nothing like giving up a career, having a baby and moving half way across the country to shake things up a bit!) Since then, in 2002 we were blessed with an adorable son, Jason, and I still have the pleasure of being with my children for every single first. I love every minute of it and am thrilled that we made the choice to be married and have the careers first with the family a bit later.
Alyssa is now in first grade and Jason just started preschool so I'm having a bit of time to myself again. Ken has been very successful and has been made the General Manager of his company's largest division. Life out here is definitely a bit different than Chicago...but how can you beat spending the summers on the ocean (about a 10 minute drive from our house) and the winters skiing in the mountains (just a couple of hours away)?
Unfortunately, the announcement of the reunion came a bit late for us. We had just made a trip back to Chicago in August so we won't be able to catch up with everyone Thanksgiving weekend. Have a great time, best wishes, happy holidays and we'd love to hear what everyone else is up to!
