Tina's Story
As I read the preprinted questions to tell you my favorite types of hobbies, music, movies and more I realize that the real me has nothing to do with that. I am into photography, my main subjects being family and nature. I love to sit on my patio and watch the hummingbirds fly around the yard. I am also starting my photography business, so feel free to contact me for those family portraits you have been putting off. I can also be found on facebook as Tina Megee Martin.
I am a mom to a 17 year old son, Riley. His father, my husband Chuck, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 1998. We had been married just over 6 1/2 years and had bought our first home in Corona less than a year before.
Riley & I have one dog, Max who turned 9 on Valentine's Day. He is a Lab mix; a pound puppy who has a stub tail and a spotted tongue. Of course, we think he's the best dog in the world. We also have a kitten, Missy who is almost a year old.
One of our favorite things to do is go on road trips. In 2007 we went almost 4000 miles in 10 days. Our goal is all 50 states and so far we have made it to 16 plus Vancouver BC. I know flying gets you to your destination faster, but road trips allow you to see so much more of our country. Have you ever seen the tallest cross in the Western hemisphere? We have, just east of Amarillo Texas on Inte...Expand for more
rstate 40. It's amazing. (I have recently researched the cross to find it is actually the second largest). (There is a picture of the cross in my Road Trip 2008 album). We also have a ritual that as we come into a new state we stop on the side of the road and take a picture of the sign welcoming us.
I had driven a school bus here in Corona for five years and honestly got tired of the kids behaving badly and the parents who always said "not my child." Let me be honest with you, yes, it was your child, quit kidding yourself.
I have learned that life is too short to care about what someone else thinks. I am stronger than I ever thought I could be. Many people talk about doing it all over again and changing things in their lives that they have done. I am who I am because of what I have experienced in my life.
That's about it for now. Maybe I will think of something witty, or just plain stupid to add at another time. For now, this is the real me and for those that don't like it, too bad. I am not out to impress anyone. Not even you. Take me as I am or walk by without saying a word.
ps,
Do one thing every day that makes you happy.
And never forget to share your smile with someone who does not have one. It doesn't cost a thing & you just might make someone's day!
