Tobi's Story

I finally feel like I'm living. I had some health problems these last several years but now that they have it figured out I'm really doing okay. My husband, Chris and I will be married for 10 years in October 2008. My daughter, Tatiana is turning 9 this year too. Time sure goes fast. We're still living in North Carolina. We don't miss the cold or the snow but come summertime I will complain about the heat. We just bought our first horse. She a pretty bay thoroughbred that is 7 years old. She's a sweet girl and she's Chris's horse. I am riding with him on a nice calm older horse :) It's much better for me that way. We are playing an interesting sport called polocrosse. It's kind of like a combo of polo and lacrosse. We both really enjoy it. Tatiana is also learning to ride and is planning to play leadline in the tournament in May. She's hoping to play without a leadline by fall. It's a cool sport in that we can all play together (eventually when Tatiana rides better on her own). The horse thing has been good for us as a family, having a shared obsession er, interest (really I mean interest). I have a hunch it won't be too long b...Expand for more
efore Chris and Tatiana are leaving me in the dust. We're still homeschooling. She's still thriving and I haven't gone insane (completely at least) yet. It's fun. Somedays though I could really do with a little alone time. We'll probably give it another year and see what happens then. She has a great memory and is great at math and reading. her spelling is painful so we are working hard at that right now. I'd kind of like to go back to school and become a massage therapist. For me to go back though, she would need to go to school and that doesn't seem to be in our cards right now. That's okay. I am not sure my already destroyed wrists could take it anyways. I'm enjoying being a mom and she's enjoying being home. I imagine in a couple years she's going to be ready to be rid of me (I remember being a teenager) so I'm going to enjoy this time. My mom still lives with us. It's still a help and a hinderance but that's okay. It works well most of the time. I'm lucky to have her here and have her support so it's a good thing I think. I always said growing up that I wouldn't live with my mom. I've learned to never say never.
