Tobia's Story
Life
When I graduated from High school in 1985, I went to Prairie Bible College for 4 years (graduating in 1989). I then travelled to Columbia, South America for 1 month and on to Los Angeles for 4 years (1989-1993). I worked with homeless people and gang kids for about 1 year while there and the remaining 3 yrs. as a pre school teacher. Completed 1 year of undergraduate studies for inner city ministries and took a semester of early childhood education at Los Angeles Community College. I was there in 1993 when the riots broke out.
I moved back to Woodland (my hometown)--purchased a home with my parents and opened up a Home Daycare (1993-2000). I Met my husband in 1999 and married in May 2002. We settled in Phoenix, Arizona and have adopted two "kids" (goats). My husband has his own business--he is an electrician. I work with him on various jobs ...Expand for more
as well as keep the books, billing--etc..... Currently we are in the process of adopting a child from China. The wait will be approx. 2 years.
We love to get together with friends and travel. Our desire is to be used of God to help others as He provides. Would love to hear from anyone who I've known in my past. If you feel so inclined---please drop me a note to let me know how you're doing.
Update: We switched countries for adoption. The wait in China turned out to be longer that expected --now 3-4yrs. We are now planning to travel to Ethiopia by this summer (2008) to bring home our 2 children.
Update 2: My mother passed away Oct. 2008 just 3 weeks before we received the referral for our children from Ethiopia. We travelled in March 2009 to bring our children home. It's been almost a year now since they've been home (it's now Feb. 23rd,2010).
