Toby's Story
Life
While my body constantly reminds me that it has been well over 20 years since our graduation, my mind has not caught up with that fact.
After CHSS, I went to Cornell where I studied human development. I had (as as some may remember) planned on becoming a rabbi. That changed about mid way through and I soon decided I wanted to enter medicine. I took a year off after Cornell and worked in NYC. I then went to SUNY at Buffalo and graduated with my M.D. in 1991. Having had enough of the cold, I drew a line at the Mason-Dixon and headed south to Nashville, TN and Vanderbilt. There I completed a four year residency in psychiatry. I also met my husband and we married at the Opryland Hotel in 1994.

ucky and the greater Cincinnati area where I joined the faculty at University of Cincinnati. There I developed a women's program and became active in medical education. In 1999 we headed to Gainesville, Florida where my husband and I joined the faculty at the University of FL. We had our boys in 2000 and 2003. I went part time after their arrival, still working with women and medical education.
In May 2005 we left FL for GA when my husband got a job with a pharmaceutical company. After a year at home with the boys, I began working three days a week at Emory University in the Women's Mental Health program, primarily seeing pregnant and postpartum women.
My folks are still in the same house in New City and we return yearly to see them.
