Todd's Story

What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? Some people would have been surprised to learn that I left the little town of Chouteau and joined the Military and actually stayed in for 20 years. Even I would have never believed it if you told me I would stay with something for so long! But time flies when you are keeping busy. Would I do it again? Yes, probably, maybe, no I don't think so. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? My most influential teacher: Mrs. Salters. She was the one who unleashed my inner talent and taught me how to finger-paint. She also looked the other way when I taught the little girl next to me how to eat PASTE and that it was the best thing. I wonder how that little girl turned out..probably still eating paste (sorry!)?. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? The wildest thing was actually finishing and getting a college degree-even though I traveled the world and had to always start over it seems. But, now I'm done! After 4 college degrees I realized it was just a piece of paper, and finally got over it and stopped the addiction. As far as college or school goes, I'm glad I finally finished something that I started 25 years ago! Hang in their baby. No more school-ever: I'm dun lernin. What happened to your first crush? My first crush was on the girl in Kindergarten: Mrs. Wagoner's class. She sat on number 16 (Tina?). I don't remember what my number was-but I do remember hers. How do you hope old friends remember you? I am a friend that you can rely on and trust. Also, someone who chased their dreams that only existed outside the little town I was in. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what,...Expand for more
with whom? To be truly happy, I would be with the one I love and the one who feels the same. It really doesn't matter where we are or what we are doing. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? My biggest surprise is that I retired at age 37. However, an even bigger surprise was the realization that retirement isn't what I thought it would be, so I went back to work after 24 hours vacation. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? I would play last weeks Lotto numbers again, but this time I would line up all the winning numbers-hitting the mega millions-only to give it all away to the homeless and those who truly need it more than me. Take that Oprah! What's the weirdest job you ever had? The weirdest job I ever had was milking goats-but then being from Chouteau-it isn't all that weird (remember Redbud Goat Farm-anyone?). So, I would have to say that the weirdest job was watching for North Koreans coming over the boarder into South Korea-at night-with my rifle and no ammunition. Don't know what I would've done if I actually saw someone-they didn't tell me that part. Where have you lived? Lived: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, England, Utah, South Korea Traveled: Nebraska, Florida, Delaware, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, North Carolina, Idaho, Washington, Minnesota, Kansas, Ohio, Colorado, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, North Korea, Spain, Vatican City, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Argentina, Antarctica, Chile, Uruguay, Caribbean, Morocco, Tanzania Africa, China, Gibraltar, Cuba. Why did you move? Military-the job.
