Todd's Story
Life
Married for past 19 years to the same woman, she hasn't figured it out that I'm an idiot yet. We have three amazing sons, one almost 18, 15, and 8. We're getting ready to see our firstborn off to either OSU or ODU, or somewhere else that cost way too much. Watching our kids participate in sports, getting out and hitting the greens on my days off, going out with friends and the wifey and having a good time is about all I care to do anymore. I'm getting ready to pay even higher car insurance as my 15 year old is getting ready to drive. My wife is an OB Nurse At Memorial Hospital in Union County and Mercy in Springfield, Ohio.
Workplace
Did first six years after high school in the Navy. I was an Air Traffic Controller, went to Memphis, Corpus Christi, Chicago, New York, and everywhere overseas. Got married while stationed in Texas. Had to leave my six month pregnant wife with my mom and dad and transfer to a carrier. Went and fought in the Persian Gulf War (George Sr's.) had a second deployment to the same operating area in the Persian Gulf. Decided my maritime adventure needed to come to an end. Got out in July 1993, entered Police Academy in August, graduated in December, took me another six months to find a job in Urbana. Been there ever since, some days I ...Expand for more
love it, some days I hate it, but everyday is an adventure. Work with some great people, and overall I really enjoy the community. Currently in charge of Fleet, I'm a Field Training Officer, and seems like most days I get stuck handling most of day shift investigations (B&E's and Burglaries are up in this area since our local economy sucks. As I approach 40, I'm finding that life gets a little more interesting each day.
Schools:
I sucked in High School, sucked in Air Traffic Control School. I kicked ass again in the Police Academy, kicked ass in college (Summa Cum Laude!) and have been doing it ever since.
Interesting Side Note:
I'm the only rider in my bike group that has a JAP bike (take it easy on me, I'm sending my oldest through college next year. The plan is when we get this college thing down with him to by the Street Glide I've been aching for. Luckily, none of the guys I ride with give me too much crap about it. It's a Boulevard, but hey, it's paid for.
Another interesting side note: I know I'm still a nerd but I'm trying to change my ways. I did manage to pack on about 40 extra pounds after back surgery (two level fusion) so I'm finally back to killing myself in the weight room at work an hour every other day. Man it comes off slower than it went on!!!
