Todd's Story
Life
After high school I served a two-year volunteer mission in Minnesota teaching Laotian refugees about Jesus Christ. I learned to love the people, the language, and the culture. After my mission, I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in music composition in 1996. I married my first love, Tiffaney Smith, in 1994. After finishing at B.Y.U. we moved to Arizona for a year before heading to New York for graduate school at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. ral degrees in music composition. Upon completing graduate studies, our family (now with 4 children - 3 daughters and a son) moved to Iowa in 2002. I am currently on the Grinnell College music faculty and will complete a two-year appointment as assistant professor teaching music composition, theory, electronic music, etc. in 2006. I've been serving as the branch president (presiding Elder/High Priest) in our local church congregation for about two years now, a very demanding/time consuming, but rewarding and humbling part of my life.
