Tom's Story

Life Hello all. One cannot write a complete bio in this short space, but I can sure try to hit the high spots. My wife Betty and I live in Central Point, OR., just 33 miles north of the California border on the I-5 corridor. We have two daughters, one of which has been married for over 5 years now. Jessica and her husband John have one child (Parker 4 years old) and a new one (boy) due in March of '06. (UPDATE: Connor Jeffery Trinca was born March 22, 2006. He is healthy and wonderful!) Parker and Connor are the love of our lives. They live close, so we see them often. John is a high school teacher (English) in Eagle Point, OR., just 8 miles away from us. Jessica is a stay at home mom...and a very good one! John is a fantastic daddy and husband. He works hard and provides well for his family. We love him a lot. Melissa, our youngest is a freshman in college. She is attending Biola University in La Mirada, CA. Her major is Elementary Education. She loves kids, and wants to be a teacher. she has a steady beau, David who also attends Biola. They were in the first grade together and other grades in between then and now, and we have known his family for over 16 years. They are a great family, and we are happy with her choice! I am a Safety Specialist for Airgas NorPac and travel around Southern, Central and Western Oregon and Northern California. I am in charge of 4 stores and the territories they serve. After spending 18 years on the road full time, this job is like a vacation. I have the most beautiful territory one could have. One week I am in the Redwoods and along the coast, and the next I may be in the Cascade mountain region, and on over to Bend and that area. Betty has been a homemaker until recently (middle of '05). She took a part time job at the Hallmark store in the mall to help pay for college! With an empty nest now, she enjoys getting out and seeing people. Being a fairly small community, she just about always sees frie...Expand for more
nds and aquaintances when she works. We are involved in our local Central Point Community Bible church which we enjoy very much. It is small enough to be very friendly, and big enough to have some great advantages. Betty and I taught childrens church and 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School for many years. We "retired" from that when our kids passed through those years. We are involved in other ways now. The Rogue Valley where we live is such a fantastic place to live. We love boating, so it is nice to have 5 lakes within 45 minutes of the house. All of them are unique and beautiful. We spend a lot of time dragging kids around on tubes and wakeboards. What a blast. The Rogue River is famous for salmon fishing, and it is only about 7 minutes from our house. Some of the better "holes" are 15-30 minutes away. The salmon are plentiful and provide a great fight. Nothing like fresh salmon on the grill. We are completely surrounded by beautiful mountains...the Cascade Mts. to our east, the Siskiyou Mts to our south and the Klamath and Coast ranges to our west and northwest. Before Oregon, there was Tennessee. I moved to Nashville from Idaho in 1977 and lived there for over 10 years. But that is another story for another time. I really miss Tennessee and the wonderful people there. I never miss the humidity! Oh, by the way...many times when I am on my computer, I whisper a "thank-you Mrs Mills." I took two years of typing because it was easy, never knowing that it would be one of the most useful tools I would gain in high school. Those skills learned from her are an essential part of my work and have been for many years. I have had and continue to have a very blessed life. I have a wonderful wife (my one and only), two beautiful daughters, neither of which have caused us any pain or grief and the most wonderful grandsons on earth. What more could I ask? Thanks for reading. I love to get in touch with old friends...and make new ones.
