Tom's Story

I went on from GGHS and graduated from Caltech, married (Lorraine Moll) had two kids, My son is married with a son in SoCal, My daughter just married her partner in Seattle, now that Washington State legalized gay marriage. I divorced, remarried (Toni Davis from Whitter) and live in Whittier. I work for IBM designing data warehouses for IBM customers, including both NYPD and FDNY, several health insurance companies, the Stat if California Franchise Tax Board, etc. I love the work, and I love NYC; plays, musicals, museums, just the energy. I got back into singing in the '80s (at Jerene Johnson's suggestion) at Orange Coast under Richard Raub and discovered a whole new appreciation of classical music. We did the Mozart Requiem, some Bach, and the Verdi Requiem -...Expand for more
all with orchestra and semi-pro soloists. I never appreciated Baroque until I could experience it from the inside. Toni and I also got interested in woodworking and have taken some classes at Cerritos college. Toni also volunteers at the Maloof Foundation (Sam Maloof is probably America's greatest living woodworker - both Reagan and Carter have his rocking chair), she gives tours and works in the water wise garden. Toni and I also created the brochure for garden tours and built the garden section of the foundation's website, we take no responsibility for the rest of the design :-) I have a love/hate relationship with Adobe Creative Suite, being addicted to Photoshop and dependent on Dreamweaver and InDesign. Best wishes to all of you and to your loved ones, Tom
