Tom's Story
Suspect we are not very good judges of how others see us. Who am I really?
1) What would surprise people? Hmmm.
How about this --after a very unserious high school career, I wound up serving on three boards of education (Hilton 1983-7, BOCES 1990-4, Rochester 2005 - present). Penence, no doubt.
Studied History and Theology, trained as a crisis counsellor, held variety of journalism and PR jobs-- business and public affairs clients -- in Washington and Rochester.
Eclectic tastes and interests, too much of a workaholic to indulge them much. Curiosity, and fond memories of Hilton folk prompt this effort to touch base. Sort of an impulse, when the Classmates solcitation turned up on my computer.
2) Which teacher I'd like...Expand for more
to see?
Too many to list. HCS Board years renewed many contacts.
3) Wildest thing done?
Buy my memiors and find out.
4) What became of first crush?
Don't know. And, the story isn't over yet, is it?
5) Hope to be remembered as?
Kind. Fair. Fun.
6) Doing what to be happy?
What I'm doing. Nothing is perfect, but feel fortunate, and happy, as to how life unfolded. Knew pretty early what mattered to me.
7) Biggest surprise?
How fast it goes.
8) If granted one do-over?
Be more serious, earlier, about formal education, as a practical matter.
9) Weirdest job?
See answer to question three.
10) Places lived?
Returned to Rochester area, from DC/Virginia, in
1980s. Stayed for family reasons. Travell fair amount.
