Tom's Story
I did not graduate from S.B.
My family moved to New Orleans in the summer of 1959 and I went my junior year to a public school there, then senior year at Marion Military Institute in Alabama, where I also spent my freshman year of college. My family moved to Atlanta in 1962, and I transferred to Georgia Tech. I started in Mechanical Eng., but graduated in Industrial Management, class of '67.
I was drafted, spent a year in VN in Army artillery. It was not too traumatic, and I ran a poker game in the ammo bunker.
When I returned, I began playing poker in Atlanta, and ran a poker game twice a week in my home from '69-'75. I spent 3 years in Thomasville, Ga. (my birthplace) living with my parents, then returned to Atlanta and rode the wave of backgammon popularity in the late '70's. I...Expand for more
was Georgia Backgammon Champion in '75, '78, '79, and 1986.
In 1980, I moved to L.A. and played poker in the card clubs there. The actor's strike that year dried up the movie money in the card clubs, so I moved back to Thomasville and lived there until '86, when I made the final move back to Atlanta. I have been playing poker and backgammon here since. I also travel to Biloxi, New Orleans, Atlantic City and Vegas several times a year.
I have had many girlfriends over the years, but never married and have no children (yet).
I went to the 40th reunion and saw many of my classmates, most of whom were surprised to see me.
I am quite healthy, with no physical problems, work out every day, and feel great.
I can be found on facebook and myspace.
