Tom's Story

After graduation from CHS I did some time in the Army before going to College at the University of Florida where I got a degree in Math. After that I got a job as a yuppie (which I hated) and then a job as an instructor at Sante Fe Comm College (which I loved but paid nothing). In 1989 I joined the Navy and went to flight school. I have over 28 years of military service in the Army/Army Reserves and Active Navy and I retiried in 2009 and settled down in Florida near my family. I have been married to my wife Stephanie for 31 years, and have three beautiful children: two boys and a girl as well as 3 grandsons with anoth...Expand for more
er on the way. . Over the last 20 years we lived in Japan; Coronado, CA; Guam/Iraq and Monterey, CA, Paris, France and Chesapeake, VA. . It was a lot of fun but we were ready to go home so the kids can grow up in one spot. Returning to Florida I taught math for 3 years at Ft White High School before going back to get a masters and teach at UF. Following that I ran the our 600 acre farm with my brother for 3 years and now I am fully retired but still run about 180 acres down in Fort White with my 80 year old mother who loves it. We have about 100 sheep and 20 cows. When I can I still fly as much as I can out of Lake City.
