The two guys who are NOT wearing shirts are both named Tom. I am the one standing with an attempt at growing a beard. In the middle of the group is our Chief Petty Officer who was in charge of our little group.

Here is an example of the 3 Quonset Huts our battalion built in Nam Phong. Believe it or not, we were there a little over 100 days and it was the most productive job I have ever witnessed or have been a part of. The first
Ever heard of a Monsoon??? It rained 'almost' every afternoon. It gave us a chance to take a shower. The buildings shown here are Sea Huts. Made entirely of wood, with the exception of the canvas tent. 16 guys slept in
Landing here was a C-130, bringing in more equipment and supplies. Ah year - - - - more troops also. Most of the C-130's came from Okinawa where our main battalion was stationed. That is UNTIL we all had to RE-locate to
Framing in a Sea Hut. Not much to them. But, for 100 + days, they worked for us. They were built about 3 feet up off the ground to keep from flooding. Rain in Thailand????? Nah.
Just sat down at our seats (Row 15, Seats 18 & 19) for the Ringo Starr show at Harvey's Outdoor Ampitheater. First show in about 5 years!! REALLY looking forward to it. Rightsmack dab in the middle.
