Tom's Story
After highschool worked for a year for then Canadian Western Natural Gas, after that rode my bike from Calgary to Victoria and back, then spent the next year travelling around Europe, Scandanavia, Turkey and the then Soviet Union. In 1981 joined the RCMP where I am to this day having worked in AB, ON, SK, NT, NV and currently in BC as the Officer in Charge of the West Kootenay's region. The RCMP has been an interesing career, met many very interesting and wonderful people, and a few not so wonderful people. t the 1988 and 2010 Winter Olympic's. Spent 3 years attached to a Tactical and Emergency Response Team until moving North of Sixty for 10 years living in Tuktoyaktuk, Cambridge Bay, Lac La Martre and Cape Dorset. Married to Sheila a Nurse in 1990, two children, Haeleigh 21 currently in her 3rd year of Speech Pathology at UBC and Trynn 19 currently working at the Banff Springs Hotel with plans to do some travelling. We currently reside 8 miles North of Nelson, BC alongside Kootenay Lake. Retired on June 21st, 2017 after 36 years, now time to relax and do a bit traveling.
