Tom's Story
Was Tom Schlenker; still am Tom. I kept the 2 names that my parents gave me, Thomas & Paul--but like Mellencamp, I changed to Cougar, in '89. A friend says "Tom Cougar Schlenkercamp", ha. Respelling & repronouncing "Schlenker" for people ate up too much time. Now sometimes I'll get "Tom Kreuger"...
I try to keep things simple, to be the best possible friend; I'm not perfect at that, but pretty much everything worthwhile in life comes from it. Am a radiologic tech with credits which would add up to close to a Bachelor's, but haven't nailed down a degree yet. Never been too impressed by sheepskin as such. raduated magna cum laude from the School of Hard Knocks. ;-) Have found that some keys are to stay curious, observant and persistent. Am retired from the Navy after 20 years, but I don't believe in retirement in general. Life is to be lived, and a sense of humor makes it sooo much easier! Let me eventually "go with my boots on"... My job is a union one, and I'm serving as a steward for the Teamsters. Wanna do a lot more with assorted forms of community service... And it all--always--comes back to friends.
