Tom's Story

Workplace I started at Pacific Telephone in Compton, CA in 1964. I worked in the switchroom and frame until approx 1972. An Opportunity came up to start a new 4A switching office in Gardena - I jumped at it and spent about 4 years on that project. I then transfered to Anaheim 4A. A short time later another opportunity came up to be on the ground floor of a new message accounting systems for SxS offices. Jumped at that one too. Then in the late 70's I was promoted to accounting - in the Irivne Data center. After about 3 years I relocated to San Francisco in the systems groups for Disbursement Accounting. from Pacific Bell and started my contracting career. My first assignment was with AirTouch as a Project Implementor in Sacramento, San Diego, Atlanta, and LA. From there I moved back to PacBell for a network infrastructure upgrade project. When that ran it's course I started a cotnract position at Bank of America doing Telecommunications Project Management. At the Y2K rollover I was offered a permanent position and accepted. This lasted until November of 2002 when I was layed off in one of their cost cutting moves. I've taken the time since Novmenber to clean up a lot of issues and scaled down my work involvement It's July of 03 and I am know ready to go back to work - Was that a double no-whip Mocha? Tom
