Tom's Story
How do you catch people up on forty years of life. How many of you really care, we all found out that life is a bowl of cherries. We all found out that life was nothing like Leave it to Beaver, or Father Knows Best and the Donna Reed Show. I'm not anything like I was in High School, I was very shy, and afraid of being laughed at. I was always reminded of the neighborhood I was from. Being treated that way taught me a lesson in life, that to this day is still with me. To always have compassion for other people. After High School I enrolled to go to college, I went for two weeks and knew that college wasn't for me. I went to work for my dad and his partner, and worked for them until we bought the company in 1990. In 1969 when the Goverment had the lottery for the draft my birthday was number 51, luckily I had join the Army Reserve the week before...Expand for more
. I had someone with me that join the same time I did, Wayne Spauldingand his number was 328, poor Wayne.I was married for the first time in 1971, divorced in 1973. We had a son, which was the best thing to come out the marriage. Zach lived with me, and I am very proud of him, no one could ask for a better son. Now I have a grandson who is 12, let me tell you their is no better feeling. I met another woman in 1976, and I let her get away from me, she was the one. Then I married my second wife in 1998, she was my first wife's best friend. I now know that trouble comes in pairs. We were on our way to a divorce, she became sick and past away July 4 2000. The most important thing in my life is God, and his Son, they have made my life worth living. There's peace in my life, and each day has become a blessing. I feel that all things are in God's hands.
