Tom's Story
We are now the older generation, I know in 1974 I never considered I would be a member. Life has been crazy since high school, and I have lived every moment of the crazy. We celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary this past February 29th, only the 11th true anniversary we have seen. Our 4 daughters are grown and have blessed us with 19 grandkids and 1 great grandkid. Family gatherings require a lot of space and can get really routy! I have technically retired, only because I could put more in the bank than when I was working. My career was as crazy as my life, climbed that proverbial ladder to a Director of IT position, but in 2008 when the economy tanked I was released from my position and replaced by a young buck that worked for half my salary. to resigning. That was very humbling as I had worked steady for 32 years without experiencing the dreaded axe. These days I work part time managing a couple web sites, database and network for a local mom and pop gun shop. A very far cry from the 24/7/365 work schedule I kept in the past. Spend a lot of time now on my Ps4, freaking the kiddies out when I tell ‘am how old I really am. The rest of my time is spent either birthday shopping, we seem to have at least 1 or 2 birthdays a month, remodeling (my wife believes I can build her anything) and watching the news while shaking my head at the world as it is today. Often tell my grandkids I feel sorry for them, they don’t know what the outdoors and true fun is, they would probably be arrested if they did some of the things we did for fun. Look me up anytime, I really enjoy hearing from classmates.
