Tom's Story
Life
I'd like to think that I've changed a lot since High School. I was extremely shy and introverted, and I've overcome a lot of that. I started going to college for Computer Programming, but got side-tracked when one class went totally over my head. I started going to music classes, improved on my piano/keyboard skills, learned guitar and developed my voice and for a couple years thought I might be able to get into music as a career. Well, that didn't work out :) so I fell back on my other main interest, computers. I went to a trade school, learned computer hardware and software, and helped develop a program used world-wide in churches for keeping track of donations, purchases of materials, etc. I got my foot in the door with that experience working for a company in Farmington Hills, Mi, implementing computer networks, systems in doctors offices/hospitals all around Michigan. eral Motors. I basically sit at a General Motors administrative building, supporting about 3000 computer desktops and notebooks (along with 4 other people). My 5th year anniversary was 8/31/04, and I had worked as a contractor before that for a year and a half, so I've been there 6 and a half years. I'm currently expanding on my education, picking up not where I left off, but much further down the line in programming, administering Microsoft servers and networks, and I hope to move up into a higher position, but one that's technical and not merely administrative/business related.
I still record music sometimes, and have my guitar, keyboard and a recording mic handy, but it has largely fallen into the background over the years. I'm still looking for someone to share my life with, and currently own a 3 bedroom home which is mostly just an investment at this point. :)
I get together with friends occasionally, either work friends, or friends I've known since high school, and either go to the bar, play computer games, or go to the movies.
