When I graduated from Arvada in 1965 I was Tom Salazar. All of my other degrees and my Navy discharge all say Ted A. Bear. My wife, Tedi (cute huh?), and I have settled in North Logan, Utah after spending ten years on the east coast in Coventry, Rhode and ten years on the west coast in Santa Cruz, California. I started working for IBM. I left IBM in 1971 when I went into the Navy (instead of the Army, who sent me a draft notice and wanted me to go to Viet Nam). After 3 1/2 years in the Navy, peace broke out and I got a medical discharge. Then I came back and finished up all my degrees at UNC in Greeley. I taught college in Lamar for a while until the school did away with the computer department when it merged with another school. Then I went to Golden, Colorado to work in Radio and Television computing. Then to Salt Lake City to work for Sunn Classic Pictures in Movie computing. Then I got into the Silicon Valley groove ¿ riding start-ups into the ground ¿ 6 of them. I went to Rhode Island to work in Lottery computing. Then to Utah and aircraft engine software. Along the way I changed my name from Tom Salazar to Ted A. Bear. My lovely young wife is the secretary for the football program at the University of Utah and I am the Webmaster for USU,EDU/FOOTBALL and USU.EDU/SAS. My wife and I have put a great deal of time into the Boy Scouts of America. We are both Silver Beaver recipients. We have 5 boys (all of them Eagle Scouts) and 2 girls. Kyle, born 1976.
