Tom's Story
Today is September 10, 2015 and here is where we are with the reunion;
Now that we re moving forward with the actual event and we have a place with a catered full course dinner and open bar everybody needs to understand that I have committed to making this night a successful evening for all to relax and enjoy. To that end I also expect that every classmate that have indicated they will attend to commit as well. The monies for the caterer are substantial and covered in the cost of a ticket. Think about the reunion 10 years ago we had the dinners but the bar was a cash bar and they opened up another bar in the back because the first one was 3 deep constantly. This event has everything included. So when you say you will come and you pay the costs for the event the costs are NON_REFUNDABLE so I can make sure we have the funds in place. I am still talking with the different people for the caterers and a possible band/dj. When I finalize the rest, the dead lines may move up for monies to be paid. I am not planning to fail so when you say your coming and you pay the PP cost MAKE SURE you are as committed. So I do not have to be the bad guy later on. It has been long enough without one and I think (from the feedback I get from the three web sites I monitor) I think there are quite a number of us that are looking forward to this night, I am. To repeat myself the magic number is 100 classmates at a minimum. I have a "attending list" of 54 which includes significant others. To those of you that have indicated "you will attend" I look forward to you committing as well and seeing everybody in person that night. To those of you that have switched from "attending to maybe" I have that captured as well. As always if you have questions or comments let me know.
Today's date is June 17 2015 and I have set up a FACEBOOK web page so that we all can start sharing and communicating some more and hopefully increase our count of attendees. Hello, to all of the classmates that can see and read my profile story. So according to classmates.com we have a total of 251 classmates from our graduating class. I have notification from 19 classmates that have indicated they would come and with the +1 or 2 we are up to 28 folks. Not bad for a start. So I am looking for help in reaching out to the other 232 to keep it going, so if you can assist in any way the assist is much appreciated. To those of you who have decided to visit this page to see whats new with me. Well I decided to sign up with this web site as I have been discussing with some folks that I see from time to time over the last few years about getting together to plan the next reunion and much to my surprise, nothing. So as you read through this I will invite you to get in touch with me and let me know of your interest in having a reunion. I am committed to the effort and look forward to hearing from the class members. For those of you that have received emails from me I am only looking to get this started and see how we as a class can network the experience to get the word out to as many as possible. Some of the folks have come to the page looking for a picture or some insight as to who is Tom Wilson now as opposed to 1976, well I think I am the same just a little older like the rest. I am still married to my high school sweet heart Carol and we are doing just fine. We still live local and have raised three children in the years that have gone by. I am not a social network type of person but decided to join here as I noticed there were many of my classmates already here. I would think that as this develops we will somehow meet and greet inevitably. So I invite anyone to get involved and lets see what we can do, has it not been long enough? I will continue to email those of you who are in the list and hope to hear back from you. I am not posting a general announcement for a reunion as I want to touch base with just the class of 76 for now and see what we can do first. More to come.
