Tomas's Story
Life
After high school i tried going to college for a few yrs and also wasted time in every type of job you can think of trying to find something to do. I wasnt getting anywhere so i followed my father's footsteps and joined the military not really thinking of staying in very long but you know how that goes, 2 yrs turned into 12. I got stationed in Georgia for most of my time and spent alot of time training in places like Europe, Africa and South America. My final stop with the Army was in Ft Walton Beach Florida and i fell in love with it and decided to make it my home. I never moved back to Northern California and my family moved out of Vacaville in the mid 90's, so i only go back occasionally to see my sisters. I got married for the first time this past yr at the age of 39 (i know...its about time) to an awesome woman from Chico California of all places..go figure.
I served 12 yrs in the Army, and was a proud member of the Army Rangers Infantry for 8 of those yrs based out of Ft. Benning, Georgia. School
I had a great time growing up in vacaville. From middle school at fairmont to jr high at will c. wood, to my 3 yrs at vaca high. I allways loved being in vacaville and have some great memories. I had some great friends and good times there and will never forget them. Maybe ill make the next reunion.
College
Since i didnt get much accomplished at Sac St. then later American River College(some great parties though!!)...most of my education was obtained while in the military. I took courses whenever i could then later went to Florida St. Univ. and finished.
Workplace
I currently work for a medical supply company. We specialize in Hip and Knee implants, assisting during the surgery using our patented software.
Military
After i enlisted in the Army i was encouraged to try out for the Ranger Regiment which i did and became part of the 3rd Battallion / 75th Regiment headquartered at Ft Benning Georgia. I saw some pretty good action in Panama and some action in the first Gulf War in Kuwait in 91. Those were the best yrs of my life and something i will hold onto forever. The friends i made in my time in the military are the strongest bonds a person could ask for.
