Tommie's Story
Life
I am currently working in Southwest Asia as a communications engineer for the military as a contractor. I live in Arizona. I like the work I am doing and love my family. I am semi-retired because I am retired from the military. The first in my life is GOD because without HIM I can do nothing. I work the way I want to, not because I have to. I like Arizona because of the weather, climate and it is a well kept secret that black people do not know about. The high technical jobs are plentiful, the social atmosphere relaxed, and the life style is invigorating. I live at the base of a mountain range and the weather here is absolutely fantastic. In some areas of this great state you can ski in the mountains and wear "T" shirts in the valleys on the same day. I was born and raised in East St. Louis, but will spend the rest of my life in Arizona. You can drive to LA, and Vegas in eight hours, or catch a flight for less than 100$ round trip and be there in less than a hour and a half. There is also Phoenix, the largest city in the states, in resp...Expand for more
ect to land size. Also within easy reach by car or plane is El Paso, Tx ("GLORY ROAD"); Albuquerque, NM; Denver, CO; San Diego, Ca. and Denver, CO. My children was raised here, but have seen and tasted other parts of this country but still stays here in Arizona because of the oppurtunities that are here, and the social life. There are more black people than realized or known outside of Arizona. The play "Madea Goes to Jail" premiered in Phoenix and the playwright, writer and star (all one and the same) was amazed at and joked about the huge number of black people that is in Arizona. His play was sold out within three days of announcement. If you ever get a chance visit Arizona. Also I and my wife has taken to cruise trips and our next cruise is either to the Mediterranean (Holy Land)or the Caribbean. The photo of me is less than one year old and it is taken while on a cruise to Alaska ports of interest. We took a fishing junket and the fish I have is a "Dolly Parton" trout, which is a salt water trout. May GOD always bless you and keep you close.
