Tommie's Story
Life
My father retired from the Navy after serving twenty years in 1980. I grew up in Charleston SC from around the age of 8-13. While in Charleston I lived in Forest Hills subdivision on Ovaldale lane. I played little league baseball for Pepperhill Red & White and we won our division when i was 13. I had friends that lived in Pepperhill and Forest Hills. I moved during the eighth grade to Great Lakes, Illinois.
At Great Lakes I lived in base housing at 3177B Meridian Drive. I remember having to ride the city bus to school and back. It would cost anywhere from a dime to a quarter each way to ride. I was on the JV tennis team my junior year at North Chicago High School. My father retired after my junior year and we moved back to North Carolina for my senior year of highschool.
I attended White Oak High School my senior year in Jacksonville, NC. We lived at 470 Ramsey Road in Jacksonville.

ansferred from Monroe to Fayetteville NC to Cross Creek Mall. I changed occupations from there to selling cars. I left that after a short time and began managing a local video rental store named Video City in Jacksonville, NC.
I left Video City for a lot more money and I went to managing Devon Home Center. I worked at Devon for 4 years until they closed down and then started managing Blockbuster Video in New Bern, NC. For a substantial pay increase I left Blockbuster a couple years later became the Manager for Freedom TV and Stereo in Hinesville Georgia for about a year.
I decided i wanted to move back to my hometown and start a "Career" so i applied and was hired with the Onslow County Sheriffs Office in Jacksonville NC. I have been with the Sheriffs Office for over 14 years. I worked in the jail for approximately 18 months, as a School Resource Officer for White Oak High School for 8 years, and now I work in the Special Operations / Computer / Technology Division.
