Toni's Story
I have done some things that I never thought I would do. First of all, I never thought I would marry someone older than me. However, I have been happily married to my husband Wesley (5 1/2 years older) for 9 years. I never thought I would marry someone like my father, a soldier. My husband is now in his 17th year of service. He is currently in the Michigan Army National Guard, but has done some active duty time with the 82nd Airborne. He has done three tours overseas, and hopefully since he is so close to retirement, we are done with those. But with the military, nothing is ever a guarantee!!

done a few different things, including 5th grade and 6-8th grade math. I got my Master's degree in Special Education, and now I teach 6th and 7th grade Special Education. I work with a lot of students that have autism. It is very rewarding and I love it. It is also the hardest thing that I have ever done. Some days I feel like I can't do it one more day, and then you have that moment where a student has done something that no one thought would happen (like a student being able to handle a change in schedule without a meltdown). I know it sounds small, but for these students that can be HUGE! I also work with students that have other disabilities in a resource room and in a teaming situation.
