Tonia's Story

Life I can't believe we are approaching our 20th Reunion already! Since high school, I have lived in Charlottesville (college); Richmond again (teaching Latin for four years at L.C. Bird); Ithaca, N.Y. (teaching Latin for three years); Mercersburg, Pa. (over six years, teaching a little Latin, but primarily working in Mercersburg Academy's Alumni & Development Office, and then staying home with our boys); and now, Germantown, Tenn., just outside of Memphis. My husband, Scott (a college friend, to whom I'll be married ten years on July 12, 2007), and I moved here this past summer with our sons, Ben (4) and Sean (1). We both work at St. George's Independent Schools, where Scott is the director of college counseling and I am teaching Latin again part-time. We met d...Expand for more
oing a first-year theater group in college and also sang throughout U.Va. We sang with a community chorus while in Mercersburg and will look for more opportunities here as well. I am really enjoying being back in the classroom after a four-year hiatus but was glad to try something different, too. I hope to start a master's program in curriculum and instruction this summer. Most of my family is still in Richmond. My older brother, Jeff (Midlo Class of '86), lives in Norfolk with his wife, Wendy, and their four kids. He is an associate at Williams Mullen. My younger brother, Andy (Midlo Class of '94), lives in Richmond with his wife, Jessie, and their three kids. My mom still lives in our house in Olde Coach Village; my dad just passed away in September.
