Toniette's Story
After graduating, I attended N VA Community College while working at various government agencies. In 1979 I relocated to Teaneck NJ and started a career with New York District Postal Service in Manhattan in Human Resources, last position held was Manager Personnel, current position is District Complement Coordinator.
My husband, Lawrence, of 6 years is a wonderful, loving and very kind hearted person. I love him dearly. We have together in total 3 children. Rashaun (35), Lauren (26) and Larry Jr (16) and 2 grand-daughters and 1 more grand on the way.
Life has been good and I am looking forward to continuing it that way, GOD willing.
In February 2008, we traveled to London and Paris, it was a great time. Paris is very fun and exciting and has a number of interesting events to do and museums to explore. London was fun, but not as exciting as Paris. The trip was 7 days, we decided if we go again, Paris requires 5 to 7 days to itself to fully enjoy the experience. In October we are cruising to the Eastern Carribean.
Next year I can retire, and am contemplating my choices, retire and stay at home, retire and relaunch myself into community e...Expand for more
fforts, find a company that really has a mission that is definitely worth starting at, or hang in my current position for a little while longer. No rush to decide, I'll know when it's time to change.
It would be nice to hear from some former classmates and to find out what reunion plans are pending for Class of 1972.
And yes, I saw Remember the Titan and wonder where the story line came from, but since it pretty much revolved around the football team, I figured, perhaps the events all happened within their sports world vaccum. What I recall most was the constant changing of the school system during that time, the school board changing grades 7 to 8 and 9-10 and 11-12 and back to 9-12 to attend school together. Oh well, it was fun and we finished and continued our life's journey to adulthood.
And, when you think of your old classmates, hanging out and having fun, it puts a smile on your face.
To those who read this message, I wish you continued good health, happiness and the ability to stay a float through our undeclared recession.
Hang in there and if you find yourself slipping, tie a knot in the rope and hold out, it gets better with time.
