My Fathers side;
Great grand dad came from the Tennessee mountains, running from the law for unknown reasons. Settled in east Texas where he met his bride. Grand dad moved to Abilene Texas, met and married my Granny and had my Father and Aunt Bea. He died the day before his 50th wedding anniversary.
Mothers side;
(Not sure how many greats this was back)
Great X? Grand Pa was a full blood Irishman who came to the new world full of hopes and dreams and settled in South Texas. He met his bride, a full blood Cheyenne Indian, wed, and fled to Mexico with her starting a large bananna plantation. He died in the Gulf of Mexico delivering bananna's when a hurrican hit his ship. His wife fled Mexico, with her daughter, to Abilene Tx, because the Mexican government did not allow women to own land and killed all Indians.
Several great's later My Papaw, (the man I looked up to as Father), Met my Maw Baw, at the Baker heights community south of Abilene. They had 2 children. My dear Uncle Ray Smith, and my Mother (Mom) Loisteen Smith. My Mother met My Father while working at Citizens National Bank in Abilene.".
